One of the amazing things about the Toronto
International Film Festival is you
just never know WHO you might run into while
out for a night on the town. When I stepped
into The
Rosewater Supperclub and spotted
Gabriel Byrne, an actor I have long
admired, I invited him to chat with filmtalktv.
He graciously accepted my invitation, in
spite of the fact that he was totally unprepared.
No wonder he has built a solid reputation
as one of the most gallant guys in Hollywood
today. He left me with the impression that
the compassion he so vividly portrays on
the big screen, is not an illusion he creates
at will, but rather a dominate part of his
true personality. All of this is interesting
considering he had just completed a hard
days work on the set of his new film Spider
directed by the master of the macabre David
Cronenberg. |
